Behavior Support

Not sure how to handle your child's challenging behaviors? We can help!

A core principle in ABA therapy is that every behavior serves purpose. When your child is having a meltdown or engaging in other challenging behaviors, it is likely because they are trying to:

  • obtain a preferred toy or activity

  • end or avoid non-preferred situations

  • get your attention

  • obtain sensory stimulation

In ABA, our goal is to analyze the environmental contexts under which behaviors occur so that we can find out exactly why, where, and with who they are happening!

Behavior Analysts do this through functional behavior assessments where we analyze different variables in your child's environment. Once we understand why your child's behaviors are happening, we are then able to develop a treatment plan with goals to decrease these behaviors and teach more appropriate and functional behaviors.
